It's Week 5 and you're officially on the homestitch! This is the final official week of the sew along, but we will be giving you a couple of buffer weeks to catch up and finish your quilt top before we draw prizes. If you're just joining us, welcome! It's still not too late to jump in. Catch up on all the details below.
You now should have completed all of your half log cabin or panel blocks. This week we will be finishing the quilt and sewing it all together. Both versions of the quilt are sewn together the same way and because these blocks are BIG it comes together fast!

Large Quilt with Panel
Prior to sewing your quilt top together, be sure to square up your finished blocks. This will be helpful while assembling the top. In the finishing steps, the quilt is assembled into quadrants. This step is quite easy as you do not need to match any seams. When you are sewing the quadrants together, you will be matching seams, so go slow and pin at each junction to make sure your quadrants are aligned.
Large Quilt
Like the Large Quilt with Panel, it is important to square up your finished blocks prior to sewing them all together. The Large Quilt is slightly more complicated to sew together after completing the quadrants β it has many more seams to match. Be sure to pin your seams and go slowly when doing your long seams.
