This free quilt sew along runs May 25th through June 22nd total of five weeks, one beautiful quilt, and a whole lot of community. Whether you're a confident quilter or still working your way through your fat quarter stash, this is the sew along you've been waiting for.
What Is the Butterdish Quilt?
The Butterdish Quilt is the newest pattern from Sewtopia's own Megan White Callahan, and she absolutely did not miss. This fat quarter friendly quilt pattern comes in four versions across two sizes and two layout variations, so you can make it your own every single time.
There's a panel version that pairs beautifully with the Ruby Star Society Mystic Fable panel, and a non-panel version that works with any fabric collection you love. Stash busting, novelty print showcasing, or finally making something entirely for yourself — Butterdish is here for all of it.

Butterdish Quilt Along Schedule
The sew along is broken into five focused weeks so you can keep up without the overwhelm. Here's what to expect:
Week 1 | May 25th — Choose Your Layout and Select Your Fabric
This is the fun part. Pick your version, pull your fabrics, and get excited. The "ooh, what if I used THIS" phase is officially open.
Week 2 | June 1st — Cut Fabric
Put on a good playlist, book, or your favorite background noise and get to cutting. You've absolutely got this.
Week 3 | June 8th — Make Flying Geese Units
Megan's instructions are clear and beginner-friendly. Flying geese, here we come.
Week 4 | June 15th — Make Blocks
Watch it all start coming together. This is the satisfying part.
Week 5 | June 22nd — Assemble Your Quilt
Stand back. Take a photo. Be incredibly proud of yourself because you should be.
