Janelle has always had a love of fabric and her mother taught her to sew when she was quite young. They would visit the fabric shop and she would love to just touch the fabrics and imagine what they could become. After graduating from university, she worked as a Primary school teacher. During this time, she discovered patchwork at a local shop and became immediately hooked. After her 2 children arrived, she started designing patterns for children and her business grew from there. She opened a patchwork shop and this combined her passion for teaching and fabric, leading to the perfect job for the last 16 years. With a love of classic style, woven stripes became a foundation for many of her designs. Moda toweling is a fabric that lends itself to a myriad of possibilities and the opportunity to design with these fabrics is a joy. She often finds colour inspiration in the surrounding natural environment. Mother Nature has put together some outstanding palettes and when she stops and look carefully, inspirations for fabric lines emerge.
