Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: September 1, 2025
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully, as they govern all ticket purchases, event registrations, retail/ecommerce transactions, and SMS communications made with Sewtopia. By purchasing a ticket, registering for an event, placing an order, or opting into SMS notifications, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.
1) Definitions
- “Sewtopia” refers to Sewtopia, Corp, a Utah-based company.
- “Purchaser” the individual who buys a registration ticket or product.
- “Ticket Holder” the individual attending an event (who may or may not be the original purchaser).
- “Event” any Sewtopia-organized retreat, workshop, or related activity.
- “Products” goods purchased through Sewtopia’s online or retail store.
- “Credentials” any valid means of entry or access (electronic/physical ticket, badge, code, login, or link).
2) Ticket Purchases, Transfers & Credentials (Revocable License)
- Revocable License. Credentials are a revocable, limited, non-transferable license to access the Event and may be revoked at Sewtopia’s sole discretion for noncompliance with these Terms or Event policies.
- Non-transferable outside Sewtopia. Any unauthorized resale or transfer is prohibited and may result in cancellation without refund.
- Non-refundable, with Sewtopia-assisted resale option. If the Purchaser cannot attend, it is the Purchaser’s responsibility to email [email protected] in a timely manner to request Sewtopia’s assistance to resell the ticket. Sewtopia will make a good-faith effort to resell; refunds are issued only if a resale occurs, minus the applicable transfer fee:
- 11–5 months before event: Full refund minus $50
- 4–3 months before event: Full refund minus $100
- 2–1 months before event: Full refund minus $150
- 1 month–0 months before event: Full refund minus $200
- Refund method. If resold, refunds are issued to the original form of payment if possible, or via PayPal, Zelle, or Venmo.
3) Event Policies
- Check-In. Registration is electronic. Ticket Holder must be present at check-in.
- Age/Minors. Infants and children are not permitted without Sewtopia’s prior written approval. If an exception is granted, the child’s parent/legal guardian must accompany and supervise the minor at all times and accepts full responsibility for the minor’s conduct and safety.
- Code of Conduct. Help us keep a welcoming, safe environment for all.
- Photography/Media. No professional photography, audio, or video recording unless authorized. General social posting (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) is permitted unless otherwise stated.
- Instructors/Schedule. Sewtopia may add, substitute, or withdraw instructors and make schedule changes without notice.
- Image Release. By attending, Ticket Holder grants Sewtopia permission to use their image, likeness, or voice in Event recordings, photos, or promotional materials.
- Prohibited Items/Screening. Reasonable security screenings may be conducted. Weapons, illegal substances, and hazardous items are prohibited.
- Health & Safety. Ticket Holder agrees to comply with Sewtopia’s posted Health & Safety Guidelines.
4) Removal or Ban (Post-Entry Authority)
Sewtopia may deny admission, remove, or ban any person without refund for failure to comply with these Terms, Event policies, staff instructions, or for unsafe, harassing, disruptive, or otherwise unbecoming conduct, all in Sewtopia’s sole discretion.
5) Event Cancellations & Force Majeure (No Refund Obligation)
Sewtopia reserves the right to cancel or postpone the Event, or any part of the Event, on limited or no notice, in Sewtopia’s sole discretion. In the event of a cancellation or postponement of the Event, Sewtopia shall not be responsible or liable for any costs, damages, fees, expenses, or other compensation associated with the Event, including but not limited to travel or lodging.
If an Event is canceled or postponed due to circumstances beyond Sewtopia’s reasonable control (force majeure, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, pandemics, labor disputes, or power failures), Sewtopia is not obligated to refund any portion of the ticket price. Sewtopia will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the Event and, if possible, apply existing tickets to the rescheduled Event. However, this is not guaranteed and remains at Sewtopia’s sole discretion.
6) Assumption of Risk, Communicable Disease Waiver & Liability
- Assumption of Risk. Ticket Holder voluntarily assumes all risks incidental to participation in the Event, including personal injury, illness, or property damage.
- Communicable Disease. By attending, Ticket Holder acknowledges the inherent risk of exposure to communicable diseases (including COVID-19) in any public setting and voluntarily assumes all related risks and agrees to follow applicable health directives and Event requirements.
- Personal Property. Sewtopia is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
- Limitation of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sewtopia’s total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by the Purchaser for the ticket.
- Indemnity. Ticket Holder agrees to indemnify and hold Sewtopia harmless from claims arising from their participation or violation of these Terms.
- “As-Is” Disclaimer. The Event is provided “as-is,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
7) Attendee Incidentals & Expenses
Purchasers and attendees are solely responsible for their own incidentals and expenses, including travel, lodging, meals, internet access, shipping or payment platform fees, and personal devices/supplies.
8) Retail & Ecommerce Purchases
- Payment. Prices are in USD; applicable sales tax will be added. Accepted methods: credit/debit card, PayPal, Zelle, and Venmo.
- Shipping. Orders process within 1–3 business days unless there are backordered items or preordered items. Carrier timelines vary; Sewtopia is not liable for carrier delays once shipped.
- Returns/Exchanges. Unless otherwise noted, fabric and cut goods are final sale. Eligible items may be returned/exchanged within 7 days per Sewtopia’s Store Policy.
- Product Representation. Colors may vary due to device display and photography.
9) Privacy
Information collected from Purchasers and Ticket Holders is used to process transactions and facilitate Event participation, consistent with Sewtopia’s Privacy Policy.
10) Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Disputes will first be addressed through good-faith informal resolution; if unresolved, they shall be submitted to mediation or arbitration in Salt Lake City, Utah.
11) Authority & Reservation of Rights
Sewtopia retains sole authority over Event programming, scheduling, operations, and access control. Sewtopia reserves all rights not expressly granted in these Terms and may take any reasonable action necessary to protect the Event, participants, staff, and property.
12) Updates to Terms
Sewtopia may update or modify these Terms at any time. The most current version will be posted on the website. Continued use of tickets, registrations, purchases, or SMS services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13) SMS Terms & Conditions
- SMS Opt-In Consent. By opting in, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated marketing and informational SMS messages (e.g., order updates, event reminders, promotions) from Sewtopia at the phone number you provide. SMS consent is separate from email consent and is required before Sewtopia sends any marketing texts.
- Message & Data Rates May Apply. Message frequency varies by user. Standard carrier rates apply.
- Sending Window. To minimize disruption, Sewtopia endeavors to send SMS between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. (your local time).
- No Cold Texting. Sewtopia only texts contacts who have expressly opted in. We do not use purchased, rented, or third-party lists for SMS outreach.
- Opt-Out / Help. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS. For help, reply HELP or contact [email protected]. Opt-out requests are honored promptly.
- Consent Recordkeeping. Sewtopia maintains verifiable records of SMS consent, including date/time and the form or mechanism used to opt in.
- Number Ownership. You represent that you are the account holder or customary user of the number provided, and you agree to notify Sewtopia if you change or deactivate your number.
- Carrier Disclaimer. Participating carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Privacy. Data collected through the SMS program is used in accordance with Sewtopia’s Privacy Policy (view Privacy Policy).
- Territory. U.S. recipients only unless otherwise stated.
