Since 2022, National Jelly Roll Day has become a full-blown Sewtopia tradition which is equal parts team bonding, fabric chaos, and lots (and lots) of 2½″ strips. Every September, quilters everywhere celebrate the joy of Jelly Rolls, and this year we’re spotlighting a Rashida Coleman-Hale favorite: the Jelly Rainbow Quilt (originally released in 2019).
This stunner can be made from just one Jelly Roll™ for a generous lap size (54″ × 54″). Want to go bigger? Add more rolls to scale it up, our sample above uses two Starry Jelly Rolls™ for a vibrant 67.5″ × 81″ finish that’s as fun to sew as it is to admire.
