Description
Jen Hewett is a printmaker, surface designer, author, textile artist, and teacher. A lifelong Californian, Jen combines her love of loud prints and saturated colors with the textures and light of the California landscapes to create highly-tactile, visually-layered, printed textiles.
Jen Hewett's granny was named Florence, and she loved a fizzy drink. Jen inherited her book of cocktails recipes, and while flipping through it one day, she came across the recipe for a Floradora - gin, framboise, lime, and soda - and thought the name was perfect for a collection of springy bubbly prints. Floradora is a celebration of springtime after cold, gray winter, when everything blooms and brightens. Jen pushed her signature floral style in a more geometric direction with this group, creaming a pleasing blend of lines and shapes.
