Description

The inspiration for this collection was a big bouquet of garden flowers, collected in the early fall when everything is at its peak. Katharine used dahlias, zinnias, fennel, feverfew, and more collected from her own garden as the source material for an original linocut print. These patterns were based off the original linocuts and capture the abundance of a garden at the end of the growing season.

Katharine Watson is a Portland, Maine-based artist and printmaker originally from London and Hong Kong. Since settling in Portland in 2015, she creates designs starting with hand-carved linoleum blocks, which she prints on various everyday items. Her work has been featured in Vogue and Martha Stewart Living, and she has collaborated with notable institutions like the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Outside of her studio, Katharine enjoys gardening with her dogs and reading home design magazines while sipping jasmine tea.
