Sailors had swallow tattoos as a symbol of HOPE. When they saw swallows out at sea they knew that they were close to land, and that their treacherous journey was nearing an end, and reaching their destination safely was imminent. When designing this block I wished for this same hope & safety for all those around the world that have recently become displaced by war and politics, that are on treacherous journeys to try and find a safe place to live for their families.

With all the craziness going on in the world at the moment it's easy to lose hope. This pin is a reminder that we can give others hope by being kind and respectful to them.

The Hope pin is designed by Berene Campbell of Happy Sew Lucky. The pin are based on Happy Sew Lucky quilt patterns, which have inspiring stories behind them. High quality hard enamel pin with secure metal clasp on back.
