Description

Elizabeth Hartman is a self-taught quilter from Portland, Oregon. She has been making things all her life but, after her first (admittedly disastrous) attempt at making a quilt, she was hooked and has been making quilts ever since. In 2009, she left her corporate job to concentrate on quilting full-time. Since then, she has become known for her unique, modern quilt patterns and her popular pattern line, Patterns by Elizabeth Hartman.

Elizabeth wrote her first book, The Practical Guide to Patchwork, to be the guide she wished she had when learning to make quilts. It won the Next Generation Indie Book award for best how-to book of 2011, and has been translated into French and German. She is also the author of Modern Patchwork, and Patchwork City.

LITTLE LLAMAS includes instructions for making adorable llama quilts in multiple sizes. The quilt shown in the listing image is the 64” x 68” Lap Quilt. The llamas in this quilt are similar to Elizabeth's Lloyd and Lola, but have been simplified and made smaller. Each block is 17” tall. The llamas’ blankets and legwarmers are made using charm squares, and additional charm squares are used to make decorative borders at the top and bottom of the quilt.
