Product Description
Sewtopia’s Sewing Lounge will be open Thursday, November 7th at 5pm and will close at midnight. It will reopen on Friday and Saturday at 8:00am and close at midnight. Sunday's hours will be 8:00am to noon.
Attendees will receive communication before the event about seating arrangements. We will allocate tables and groupings based on your seating requests. If you’re bring your sewing machine or belongings, you won't need to transport them back to your room as Sewtopia and the hotel will secure the main ballroom each night. Feel free to utilize this time to complete projects or explore the area with friends.
General tools will be provided in the sewing room like irons, cutting mats, and rotary cutters.
Sewtopia will do one official swap that attendees can participate in. This is a blind swap, meaning we will not assign you a partner. If you choose to participate, we ask that you bring your swap item wrapped at Check-In. If you bring an item to swap, you get one back. We will distribute swap items at the end of Friday night for you to open Saturday.

- The recommended spending limit is $15, don’t break the bank!
- Bring your wrapped swap gift to Sewtopia at check in. Please make sure it has a gift tag attached with your information on it.
- Your gift needs to be labeled visibly with who it is from and firmly attached.
- Suggestions for gifts would be a tool organizer, a large pillow, your favorite bag etc. Each year the gifts keep getting bigger and better! Go Sewtopians! Check out the #sewtopiaswap for inspiration
- Make something that you love, out of fabrics you adore.
- The folks of Sewtopia will hand out the swap Friday night after the sewing lounge closes. Your gift will be at your sewing station Saturday morning for you to open.
- Don’t worry if you don’t do the swap. We will hand out gifts only to those who participated.

- There will be a signup form emailed to all attendees 3 to 4 months before the event, where you can sign up to participate.
- Once partners are assigned, you must confirm with Rhiannon.

- This is a SECRET swap, don't give too much away on social media.
- Participants are asked to make a mosaic on Instagram and/or Pinterest to help your partner visualize what you like.
- You will be required to make one handmade item; this may be a mini, tote bag, or some other small handmade item, tailored to your partner's likes or desires.
- Each participant should spend $10-$15 on extras along with a handmade gift.
- One small gift will be left secretly at your partner’s sewing station on Thursday or Friday (though you may leave more than one if you like) with the final handmade gift being hand delivered or “revealed” to your partner on Saturday afternoon (sometime after lunch before dinner)

Rashida Coleman-Hale Fashion designer Rashida Coleman-Hale, based in the Bay Area, transitioned from studying fashion in New York to freelance graphic design and eventually fabric design. Motherhood reignited her passion for sewing, leading to the creation of her blog and sewing books.
Rashida started as a hobbyist, turned author, and ventured into fabric design. She collaborated with various fabric companies before joining Ruby Star Society. Active in the sewing community, she values connections and inclusivity in the industry.
Elizabeth Hartman is a self-taught quilter from Portland, Oregon. In 2014, she founded Patterns by Elizabeth Hartman, through which she has designed and published more than 70 patchwork quilting patterns, most with pictorial/animal motifs. Elizabeth has also written three books about quilting for C&T Publishing/Stash Books and designed 14 fabric collections for Robert Kaufman. She has fun making quilts and hopes you have fun using her patterns!
